Didn’t want to do it.
Tried to justify not doing it.
Reminded myself how bad I wanted to do it when I couldn’t.
Realized how little of it I have left to do.
Got it done anyway.
Glad I did it.

Why is running so hard?!😅😫
Pic is from a couple weeks ago (📸 @whitney_wil_run 😘) because I was so pooped after today's treadmill workout that all I wanted to do was shove food in my mouth and jump in the shower!
It's so funny how we go in stages of gaining and losing fitness. I had to adjust my Vdot paces to a slower pace because, well, coming back is HARD! But, it's so important to be training at your CURRENT fitness, not where you once were, and not where your goal fitness is. So, I swallowed my pride and slowed down my paces, and honestly - even after scaling back - this workout still completely kicked my butt! But in a good "I can do this" kinda way😊 Although, I actually checked to see if my treadmill was level after my run cause it did feel harder than I expected - and it was TOTALLY inclined and not level! If I drop it to about -1 it becomes level. What the crap!! Totally wish I would've known that before my workout😝
I'm headed to Phx for the @mesamarathon half marathon this weekend and considering that my fitness after 5 weeks of consistent running is, well, where it's at😬 my coach and I decided to turn this race into a fun workout instead of all out, and I'm REALLY excited about it! I haven't done a 1/2 in almost 2 years and I'm excited to just get out there, have a great time, and try to get in a solid workout! Not every race is about getting a PR, but every race can have a purpose - and it's refreshing to try something new and different!
